This is what Simone Falaja said on completeing her Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration with Zodiac Training:
Before I started the training for my NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration I felt that, although I was managing to do the job that was required of me, I didn’t have the full range of skills I would have liked or a qualification to demonstrate I deserved to be in the position I was in, therefore I felt a little insecure in my work. I took the opportunity to gain this qualification because I wanted to improve my skills and learn more about my job.
My main target was to gain more skills that I could use in the future and develop my learning so I was at a higher level and able to deliver a better standard to customers. The units I chose to cover in my qualification covered areas such as, where to provide reception services, how to use a diary system, how to make and receive telephone calls more effectively, how to communicate in a business environment and how to manage and improve my own performance in a business environment. When I achieved each unit I felt proud that I had successfully completed them and had gained more knowledge on each individual topic.
I completed Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number which helped me refresh my knowledge in these areas. I also completed my Technical Certificates and I was able to do some mock tests first which were extremely helpful as it gave me an idea of the questions that were going to be asked and the research I need to do to find the answers. From my research I learned a lot on the individual units which I found very useful when it came to sitting my exams.
Now I have completed the NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, I feel I have gained a lot more than I first expected. I have learned many skills which are applicable to the various roles my job entails and it has helped me feel more confident and secure in my position. Now that I have completed the qualification I would like to take my education further and complete a Level 2 in Customer Service as this would benefit not only me but the whole organisation because it would give me a wider knowledge of customer care.
In our industry we spend a lot of time dealing with the general public so it is essential that our employees are fully trained and well prepared. Since working with Zodiac I have noticed a continued improvement in the hotel’s level of customer service.
