The Setting Your Sights Programme is a motivational programme aimed primarily at those young people who are borderline pupils.
Lack of focus, planning and motivation can have a serious impact on the achievement of young people in year 10 and 11 and our programme is designed to provide a real boost at such a critical time. With a wide range of interactive sessions we are able to design a programme of workshops aimed at getting these young people back on track.
Sessions can include:
CASE STUDY: Wortley High School
A successful programme was delivered at Wortley School in Leeds. A group of Year 11 pupils underwent 10 half-day sessions over five months. The programme evolved over the period to ensure the young people’s needs were met as they changed over the course of the programme. As the programme progressed, key skills modules in application of number and communications were also completed by learners.
Bryan Pearce, Deputy Head of Wortley High School said:
“The programme for our students was very successful. All students benefited from the personal and social interaction that the programme encouraged them to become involved in. Each student attained a qualification and their levels of confidence improved. The two facilitators, Rob and Heather, both made the students feel valued. Their patience and expertise and not being ‘teachers’ made the students relax and enjoy their time completing the programme.”
I have gained a lot from the training and I am sure it will be of immense benefit to me and my job.
