Advice and Guidance Support Level 2
Advice and Guidance Level 3

Available at NVQ Levels 2 and 3, Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship our Advice and Guidance Support qualifications are primarily aimed at those working in a support or advisory situation who provide information, advice and some level of guidance. This can cover a wide range of organisations including volunteer groups, support networks, employment services and many more.

NVQ Level 2
The NVQ aims to provide those working in customer support or admin functions in an advice and/or guidance organisation with an introduction to Advice and Guidance . Job roles include receptionist and administrator involved in giving advice, particularly in the early stages of a clients’ contact with the service. It is suitable for full or part time workers, paid or voluntary who could be employed within, for example, career guidance, youth work, housing partnerships, the Connexions Service and so on.

The qualification consists of a total of 6 units – 3 mandatory plus 3 from a range of options. See the Full Unit List for details.

NVQ Level 3
The level 3 programme in Advice and Guidance is aimed at those who work directly with clients, providing advice, disseminating information and giving guidance. They will be working within clear guidelines dealing with information that often needs to be adapted and interpreted for the client. It is relevant to those employed in, for example, career guidance, the Connexions Service, youth work and youth justice, housing and IAG partnerships.

The qualification consists of a total of 6 units – 3 mandatory plus 3 from a range of options. See the Full Unit List for details.

Apprenticeship
The Apprenticeship qualification consists of the following elements:

  • Key Skills – Application of Number Level 1 and Communication Level 2
  • NVQ Level 2 – see above

Advanced Apprenticeship
The Advanced Apprenticeship qualification consists of the following elements:

  • Key Skills – Application of Number Level 2 and Communication Level 3
  • Technical Certificate – an additional two units from the list of Advice and Guidance NVQ Level 3 optional units or, two enhanced units from any other NVQ relevant to the learners job role
  • NVQ Level 3 – see above
