IT User
Level 2

Available as NVQ Level 2 and Apprenticeship, our IT User qualification is aimed at anyone who uses IT in their job. At each level, the award is designed to encourage new learning and to assess workplace competence in applying IT skills relevant to a job role. In the modern world, no two jobs need exactly the same IT skills. The IT programme is therefore designed to allow a great deal of flexibility in terms of what learners choose to do, and how they are assessed.

NVQ Level 2

The IT programme is divided into units, there is one mandatory unit and learners can choose as many or as few units as they prefer from 16 optional units. Many jobs require different skills at different levels, for example, someone may require a high level of expertise in one particular skill such as Spreadsheets but a low level of expertise in another skill such as IT Security. The NVQ is designed so that the learner is able to study just those elements that are relevant or of interest to them.

The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit and as many or as few as the learner requires from a list of 14 optional units. See the Full Unit List for details.

Apprenticeship
The Apprenticeship qualification consists of the following elements:

• Key Skills – Application of Number Level 1, Communication Level 1
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities
• NVQ Level 2 – see above
