Change Management Workshop
Overview:
This workshop is designed to provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the change process and its effects at both an individual and organisational level. It also demonstrates how effective change management is critical to the success of the overall process and what behaviours, actions and attitudes need to be evident to ensure change is embedded within the organisational culture and processes.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand what is meant by the term ‘change management’ and individual roles and responsibilities within the process
- Understand the nature and benefits of change to an organisation
- Be able to identify and effectively neutralise barriers and obstacles to making change happen
- Be familiar with the key change management models and be able to actively use these to manage a project involving change
- Understand the need for ongoing focus, monitoring and review to ensure change is thoroughly embedded and is successful
Workshop content:
Definition and sources of change:
- Defining exactly what change means within an organisational setting
- Syndicate group work to identify all possible sources of change; including internal and external influences
Barriers and obstacles to change:
- Syndicate group work to identify all possible barriers and factors that can negatively impact on successful change management. Particular focus and recognition of the personal and wider organisational levels
- Looking at the need for management role-model behaviours and how these can influence and impact on team support and overall change management success
- Using the Circle of Influence model, group activity to identify those factors that can be influenced so ensuring energy is directed towards these and not towards those wider factors that cannot be directly managed or influenced
Benefits of change:
- Syndicate groups work focusing on identifying the benefits of change at both an organisational and individual employee level
The change process:
- Familiarisation with the standard change management curve and critical stages.
- Introduction to 4 key change management models: ADKAR, Lewin, Kubler-Ross and Covey
Practical application:
- Delegates use the Force-Field Analysis and ADKAR models to strategically forward plan and evaluate a forthcoming change that is due to happen within their workplace in the near future
Embedding change:
- Looking at what actions need to happen to ensure change is embedded and is effective
- Recognising that the embedding stage is just as important as the planning and introduction stages
- Looking at the desired behaviours of managers, colleagues and self
The workshop will be supported with detailed handouts and e-resources.
